Eleni Kamateri

Over the last years, I (Eleni Kamateri) have worked in several research projects, especially in the design, analysis, and evaluation phases. Along these years, I acquired competences in several research fields, including information retrieval and Data Analysis. Recently, I completed a second master’s degree in Web Intelligence. My master’s thesis focused on automated patent classification. After finishing my master thesis, I decided to extend this work pursuing a PhD in the area of multi-label text classification with a special focus on patent documents that are long technical documents having a quite distinctive language and structure.

The patent domain in general brings together important and very active research fields such as Information Retrieval (IR), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL), within the specific context of patent processing and retrieval which is a demanding example of large-scale information access.
